Field Observation 2 Feb 27th, 2007
Today, my partner and I sat at the front left corner of the class and observed their morning meeting. The teacher asked the class what they talked about the last time and it was self esteem. I was impressed by how engaged the entire class was. It was a great discussion about things that people can do, or that you can do to make your self esteem go down. She then asked the class to discuss what they wrote in their letters and then after they were to move on to their ‘bug’ assignment. The students gave very funny responses to the teacher when she asked them what kind of bugs they would make up to draw. One boy replied “I can’t draw my sister hahahaha”. There are a lot of posters on the wall with quick and easy steps to just about anything. There is a poster on friendship; a poster on 6 minute solutions to writing etc.
